Past Events 2015
On this page you can find out about all the fund raising events held in 2015 to raise money to defeat Cancer by the Stonehenge and Pewsey Vale Branch of Cancer Research UK.
Curry Lunch & Christmas Fair
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for your continued support at our recent fund raising events. The past couple of months have been extremely busy with the Curry Lunch in October and the Christmas Fair in November and I thought you would want to know the results of our combined efforts. You helped us to raise £679 at the Curry Lunch and a fantastic £2,700 at the Christmas Fair. I think we all deserve a pat on the back.
There are many people, the unsung heroes, who we would like to thank – Manningford Croft Estate Agents who have sponsored the Christmas Fair for the past three years; the local magazine editors who find space for our adverts and articles; Colin Stevens who designed our website and has kept it updated; Peter Bell for providing all the plants for our Plant Sale over the past three years; and of course all of our ‘Supporters’ who turn up at the events and give their time freely to man the stalls, serve in the kitchen and clear up at the end. So a huge thank you to all of these people – together we really can beat Cancer.
Plant Sale and Coffee Morning
Our Plant Sale and Coffee Morning, was held in May and we were delighted to welcome so many of you to the Collingbourne Kingston Village Hall. We had so many different plants of all varieties, shapes and colours, courtesy of Peter Bell. He has been a stalwart of this event for several years now and we are truly indebted to him for his support. This event alone raised the staggering sum of £1688.
Our Musical Gala at Enford Village Hall, took place in June when we welcomed the fabulous Upavon Military Wives Choir, our superb Barber Shop Quartet and the beautiful voice of Jackie Macbeth, who entertained you to a Musical Gala. The audience loved them, we had a wonderful evening and to top it all, we raised £1033.
So thank you to everyone who has supported us, Peter Bell, the Upavon Military Wives Choir, the Barber Shop Quartet, Jackie Macbeth but more importantly all of the people who came to the events – with your help We really will beat Cancer sooner.
