"Our sincere thanks go to all the staff at the Whitehall Garden Centre at Woodborough, for offering us the opportunity to raise some money for our charity - the Stonehenge and Pewsey Vale Branch of Cancer Research UK. To everyone who was there on Saturday 16th July, a huge thank you for making the day so successful. We met some really lovely people as they shopped and not only did we raise £128.40, but we had a ball as well." ... See MoreSee Less

CRUK Stonehenge And Pewsey Vale

On Saturday 9th June at The Ship Inn, Upavon James undertook a head shave, he was a bit nervous, the pub was crowded and with everyone cheering him on, at 5.45 the hairdresser began to shave.

In no time at all the deed was done and his hair was on the floor. It was generally agreed that he looked 10 years younger!!

James was doing this in memory of his Mum, who died fairly recently, and he wanted the Stonehenge and Pewsey Vale branch of Cancer Research, to be one of the beneficiaries.

We received the sum of £300 from sponsorship that James had, together with £52 from the sale of CRUK wrist bands. Our thanks go to James of course, and also to the staff at The Ship Inn for hosting this event.

Here are the photo's before and after.

Saturday 8th April – Jack The Ripper – As You Have Never Heard It Before!

Thank you to everyone who dared to join us for a fabulous evening uncovering information about the infamous Jack the Ripper murders.

Tony Strafford, a former Yeoman of the Guard at the Tower of London, displayed a vast knowledge of the subject and kept his audience captivated throughout.

We heard about the police errors, all the grizzly details of the murders and who were the possible suspects, a truly fascinating subject.

To top it all, we raised the sum of £676, so a huge thank you to everyone attending.
