Christmas Fair

Christmas Fair – Wednesday 17th November, Figheldean

This year’s Christmas Fair was bigger and better than ever, so many many thanks to everyone who braved the cold, wet day to support us on 17th November at Figheldean.

The spirit of Christmas was certainly in evidence and it was a great success, raising £2,750.07 for Cancer Research UK. This sum was astounding given the current financial climate, so again a huge thank you to you all.

This is the ideal opportunity to mention those individuals and companies who sponsored aspects of the Christmas Fair and to offer publicly our sincere thanks for their help and support. We are indebted to you.

Curry Lunch

Curry Lunch – Sunday 17th October, The Goa Balti Restaurant, Everleigh

At 12 noon 111 hungry people arrived at the Goa Balti in Everleigh, looking forward to enjoying their Sunday lunch – and we weren’t disappointed.

As usual Hassan and his staff produced a wonderful meal for us; there were starters of chicken tikka, onion bhajis and minced beef pakoras. There were three curries and rice for the main course, chicken, lamb and vegetables with coffee to round off the meal.

A huge thank you to everyone who bought tickets and helped make the event such an enjoyable occasion and sincere apologies to all those people that we had to turn away as all of the tickets had been sold.

Special thanks must be given to Hassan and his staff for the help and support they have given us over the years. This event is one of our most popular and is always a resounding success, on this occasion producing £569.05 which will be winging its way to Cancer Research UK.

Coffee Morning

Coffee Morning – Monday 10th May, Collingbourne Kingston Village Hall

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Coffee Morning held on 10th May at Collingbourne Kingston Village Hall.

The tables were literally groaning under the plants, books, children’s toys and gifts, not to mention the variety of cakes that were on sale. We were also fortunate to have the wonderful ‘Jamie At Home’ range of tableware.

At this point we would like to thank all the people who donated the vast array of plants and those who spent their time baking cakes for us. Your support really is invaluable.

You will be delighted to know that all this effort produced £415. 21, which is a magnificent sum given that it was a cold Monday morning.
